Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF MOSHTANETS (Krum Bacvarov – krum.bacvarov@googlemail.com, Georgi Katsarov) The site was situated on a hill. Thirty-eight sondages were carried out. Three ritual pits of the 2nd – 1st centuries BC were explored, containing burned fragmentary wattle-and-daub, Thracian sherds, including from pottery of the Tsepina Group, fragments from a clay eschara, terracotta loom weights, animal bones. Single sherds of the Early Chalcolithic period and the Late Iron Age were discovered along the slopes of the hill. A stratum was documented on its flat top. A corner of a burned building, probably constructed of timber plastered with clay, dated to the Early Chalcolithic period (beginning of the 5th millennium BC), was explored in Sondage BH9. A structure of roughly-cut stones and sherds of the Early Chalcolithic period was documented in Sondage BE9.
