During work on the construction of a sewer a road-bed cut into the tufa bed-rock was uncovered. The cut was 5.00m wide with a maximum depth of 2.80m from the bed-rock surface. The cut was on a SW-NE alignment and a narrow channel (0.10m wide and 0.60m deep) for rainwater run-off ran along its south side. The road was covered by a layer of earth that probably relates to its last phase of use. This contained ceramic fragments including one of black glaze ware (4th to 1st century B.C.).
