Season

    • ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF BUTAN (Evgenia Komatarova–Balinova – e_komatarova@abv.bg) The Hairedin Rampart is 24 km long and to the north started from the River of Danube. The earthen construction consisted of a rampart and a ditch. The height from the bottom of the ditch to the top of the rampart was 4.42 m. The ditch was 2 m wide at the bottom. No palisade on the top of the rampart was documented. The finds from excavations included an ox shoe and two sherds. The construction was built during the First Bulgarian Kingdom.
