This contribution is the result of rescue excavations carried out in the area of the castle at Castelnuovo Parano (FR), as part of a project involving the castle’s structures and reorganisation of the open spaces in front of the castle nucleus. The castle’s existing structures have in part been restored. In substance these are architectural interventions aimed at improving the quality of the site. The work has also made it possible to make use of the area delimited by the _castrum_ walls. According to the project’s indications, two trial trenches were positioned in the zones where new building interventions took place. As part of the archaeological activities, a BIM model was created for the project in which to enter all obtained data. This choice came out of the necessity to create a computerised platform consultable and functional for subsequent archaeological and topographical investigations, as well as for future research.
