This rescue excavation was conducted in the ground floor of the new tower gate. This structure was raised in the 15th century, during John of Hunedoara’s reign. Several phases of construction, between the 15th and 17th centuries were found, as well as a road metal floor and one segment from a wall. In the same time, the traces of a quite recent excavation were identified in this part of the castle.
