Summary (English)
PHILIPPOPOLIS (Zdravka Koturkova – zdravka_p@abv.bg) The foundations of the pillars that supported the arches of the Roman aqueduct of Philippopolis were discovered. Part of a pavement of stones was explored over the destroyed foundations of the aqueduct. A monumental wall was discovered, built of roughly-cut stones and boulders bonded with mortar; a water-conduit of terracotta pipes was explored. The finds included fragmentary bricks and Roman, Early Byzantine and Mediaeval sherds.
