Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS IN THE VILLAGE OF KAMENOVO (Yavor Boyadziev – yavordb@abv.bg, Dimitar Chernakov, Dilen Dilov, Aleta Guadelli) In Sondages 10 and 14, the exploration of the stratum containing flint artifacts continued. The total number of the flint artifacts discovered was 8570. The cores in the flint assemblage were less than 0.5 % and were often used as pestles, the tools were less than 1 %, the flakes were 2 – 3 % and the production scrap was over 95 %. These data indicated that the site was a flint production center and the artifacts were exported or used on another place in the site. Flint adzes were also discovered. A small number of Late Chalcolithic sherds were found, too. Grave No. 19 was discovered between Sondages 13 and 14; a woman, 18 – 25 years old, was laid in a half-left Hocker position. Grave No. 20 was discovered in Sondage 14; the body was oriented to the east, laid in a half-left Hocker position. A diadem of six beads of green mineral was discovered on the skull. The sex of the deceased could not be specified, but most probably was a woman, 50 – 60 years old. The graves were situated beneath the stratum containing flint artifacts.
