Summary (English)

  • ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF KAMENOVO (Yavor Boyadziev – yavordb@abv.bg, Dimitar Chernakov) Graves Nos. 12, 13 and 14, registered in 2016, were explored. Grave No. 15 was also discovered. All the graves were situated close to each other. Grave No. 12 belonged to a child laid in a Hocker position on its right side, with head to the southwest. A flint artifact was the single grave good. Grave No. 13 belonged to an adult laid in a Hocker position on his left side, with head to the northeast. The burial pit contained occasional finds from the surrounding stratum: 17 flint flakes and 14 flint artifacts. Grave No. 14 belonged to an adult laid in a Hocker position on his left side, with head to the southeast. The grave goods included a flint artifact, a flint plate, fragmentary ceramic vessels and sherds. Grave No. 15 belonged to an adult laid in a Hocker position on his left side, with head to the northeast. The grave goods included a stone battle axe, a flint plate and a flint artifact. The burials dated to the first half of the Late Chalcolithic period.
