Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF MIROVYANE (Lyuben Leshtakov – l_leschtakow@abv.bg) Sixty sondages were carried out, covering a total area of 1302 sq. m. Two pits were explored in Sondages B and P3, containing material of the end of the Neolithic or the beginning of the Chalcolithic period. A stratum of the Bronze Age, 20 – 30 cm thick, was documented in most sondages. A house of the Early Bronze Age III was discovered in Sondage E and the finds included shreds, three loom weights and pieces of burned clay. A pit was explored in Sondage 9, containing part of a dolium of the Middle Bronze Age, a spindle whorl and pieces of charcoal. Two ditches of the Bronze Age were documented. Pits Nos. 2 – 4 were explored in Sondage P8. Pit No. 3 contained sherds from Thracian vessels, some of them belonging to the Basarabi Culture of the 8th – 6th centuries BC.
