This season, Padova University reopened its excavations in room VIII of the building east of the forum of Nora. The room was covered by the collapse of the tile roof (removed in 2016), which overlay abundant small-medium fragments of painted plaster contained within a clay matrix, in addition to sections of pisé wall characterised by a painted revetment on both faces. This layer was present across most of the room. The wall sections, some over 1.5 m long and with plastered faces continuously preserved for up to 0.80 m2, were certainly in an undisturbed collapse. Once the collapse was completely removed, it was possible to document a phase of abandonment, characterised by the almost complete destruction of the cement floor, preserved in situ in a small area in the north-west corner of the room, and by a deep robber trench in which lay a threshold made of andesitic breccia andesitic, perhaps abandoned during the its removal in the late antique period because of its notable size. The lacunose state of the floor surface means that it will be possible to investigate below its make-up, where traces of an earlier construction phase were identified characterised by a large wall crossing room VIII about midway.
