Summary (English)
This rescue excavation undertaken on a building site in the town’s historic centre documented occupation phases dating from the Hellenistic period until the modern era. Below the floor level of a service building, levels of Roman occupation were exposed, overlying a rectangular structure with foundations of squared blocks and walls built of small stones. The structure was probably roofless and is interpreted as a sacred enclosure. The pottery found in the abandonment layers covering the floor dated the structure to the late Hellenistic period.
