Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF GEORGI DOBREVO (Krasimir Nikov – k_nikov29@yahoo.com) The explorations of ritual pits dug into the cultural stratum of the Neolithic Dana Bunar 2 Site continued. Three pits (Nos. 68, 76, 82) and a structure in trench C13 were explored and thus, the total number of the excavated structures reached 25. The pits have nearly cylindrical shape, or a shape of truncated cone turned down. Their size is 1 – 1.29 m in diameter and 0.40 – 1.10 m in depth. Sherds, piles of pottery usually located on the bottom, animal bones, fragmentary clay plasters, ash and charcoal were found in the pits. A skeleton of beheaded ox placed on the bottom of pit No. 76 was discovered. A fragmentary clay structure was discovered in pit No. 68. A relief structure with hemispherical shape, a central hole and small holes in the periphery, was explored in trench C13. It is similar to structure No. 9 discovered in 1999. According to the Thracian pottery, the ritual pits could be dated to the 4th century BC.
