    Summary (English)

    • The excavations went on in the archaeological site of Apulum, in the north area of the Roman town of colonia Aurelia Apulensis, on a street parallel to the national road. Investigation results: 0-0.35 m, arable layer (brown colored soil with sporadic occurrence of tiles and sherds); -0.35-0.8 m, filling layer belonging to the Roman period; -0.8-1.65 m, phases 1- 2 of the Roman edifice erected in this area; -1.65-1.75 m, cremation level belonging to the wooden phase of the settlement; -1.75 m, archaeological sterile (clayish sand). Only the bed of the foundations of the Roman building, consisting of gravel with a thickness of 0.45-0.7 m varying with the thickness of the walls, was preserved in situ. Starting from these and on the stratigraphic analysis we identified several walls Z1…Z5 (with the connections between them) representing a part of the Roman building.
