On this site we excavated three tombs of the cremation cemetery. The rite consists in the arrangement of the offering objects near the burned bones, charcoal and ashes brought from a funerary stake near the cemetery. The Vârtoapele – Vârtopu – Ciuperceni cemetery is dated to the Early Bronze Age, and has a Glina – Verbiţa – Ostrovul Corbului (Glina IV), Bela – Crkva – Priboi level; but we found elements of the type of Bani III – Vecina – Ostrovul Corbului (post Glina and like Gornea Orleşti).
