Summary (English)
The site of Călineşti-Oaş (excavated in 1999 – 2000) is situated on the hill named “Dâmbul Sfintei Mării” (“Hill of Saint Mary”) and its significance lies in the fact that it is the first settlement dating to the Early Neolithic discovered in the Oaş Depression. From a cultural point of view, the site might be dated to the phases IIIB or IVA of the Starcevo-Criş culture (according to Gh. Lazarovici periodisation).
