Summary (English)
The settlement from Marca – “Primăria Nouă” is placed on the territory of Marca village (Sălaj County), in the very centre of the locality, on a plateau on the left side of the Barcău River. It was identified by chance in 2006, when the works for the new building of the local administration started. Here we opened seven excavation units (cassettes) named: A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. In these cassettes we found eight archaeological features (dwellings from various periods): Cassette A – complexes C. 1, C. 2 and C. 3 (Late Bronze Age). Cassette B – without archaeological finds. Cassette C – complexes C. 7 (Early Mediaeval Period, 8th – 9th centuries A.D.) and C. 8 (Middle Neolithic, Piscolţ Group). Cassette D – complexes C. 4 (Early Medieval Period, 8th – 9th centuries A.D.) and C. 5 (Middle Neolithic, Piscolţ Group). Cassette E – complexes C. 4 (Early Mediaeval Period, 8th – 9th centuries A.D.) and C. 6 (Middle Neolithic, Piscolţ Group). Cassette F – without archaeological finds. Cassette G – without archaeological finds.
