AUGUSTA TRAIANA – VEREYA (Atanas Atanasov, Maria Kamisheva – maria.ivanowa@gmail.com) The site was situated outside the fortification walls, close to the southwestern necropolis of Augusta Traiana. Nine graves were explored: eight were pits, four of them covered with tegulae, and one grave was built of bricks. A fibula of the 4th – 5th century AD was found in Grave No. 8. In eight graves the dead were laid with heads to the west and one grave contained ashes from cremation burial. The graves dated to the 4th century AD. Eighteen midden pits of the 18th – 19th centuries were also explored.
